Real Estate Litigation
Case Type: Deposit Recovery
Situation: In 2008 buyers looked to recover deposits from the developers of Miami Beach condo projects Cabana on Collins and Terra Beachside Villas. Construction had been stalled on all three projects due to multiple issues, which resulted in the buildings not being completed by the date stated on the buyers' contracts. In an effort to keep the deposits, the developers sent out a letter to each buyer indicating that the project would not meet the promised completion date. In return for an extension of the date on their contracts, the developers would offer credits to the buyers. However, rather than signing the contract date extensions, many buyers pursued a deposit recovery from the developers.
Outcome: The Saenz Law Firm represented several clients in the deposit recovery claims based on the fact that the contract stated that the building would be completed by December 21, 2006 and that the buyer must close within a year of that date. Thanks to the efforts of the attorneys at The Saenz Law Firm, all clients have successfully resolved their cases with the Cabana on Collins and the Terra Beachside buildings.

Employment Law
Case Type: Wiretapping Act
Situation: An employee of an armored truck company quit his job as a result of finding out that his conversations inside the truck were being taped without his consent. The employee felt that the tapes were being used to amuse others at his expense and eventually quit as a result of ridicule from coworkers.
Outcome: The employee hired The Saenz Law Firm as his employment law lawyer. The Firm filed the suit based on the Wiretapping Act. Furthermore, the employee's manual and the inside of the truck did not state that the employees were subject to being audiotaped inside of the truck. The Saenz Law Firm secured a judgment against the armored truck company, which resulted in a compensation award for the employee.
